Auch das Ausma\u00df der D\u00fcrren nimmt von Jahr zu Jahr zu. Es regnet kaum und die Ernten fallen karg aus. Die Ern\u00e4hrungsunsicherheit ist gro\u00df. Die Menschen k\u00e4mpfen um jede Mahlzeit. Die Pandemie verschlechtert die Situation zus\u00e4tzlich.<\/p>\n

CARE leistet Nothilfe vor Ort und arbeitet dabei eng mit lokalen Organisationen zusammen. Dabei werden die Menschen in Simbabwe mit lebensnotwendiger Nahrung und wichtigen Hygieneartikeln versorgt. Wie gro\u00df die Not ist, erlebt Rachel (Foto oben) jeden Tag. Die junge Mutter hat eine zweij\u00e4hrige Tochter. Ihr Mann arbeitet in S\u00fcdafrika und kommt f\u00fcr eine Woche im Jahr nach Hause, um Rachel finanziell zu unterst\u00fctzen. In der restlichen Zeit ist sie auf die Hilfe ihrer Schwiegereltern und den Ertr\u00e4gen aus ihrem Maisanbau angewiesen. Die D\u00fcrre hat ihre letzte Ernte zerst\u00f6rt. Sie kann sich gerade noch eine Mahlzeit am Tag leisten. \u201eWenn wir nicht genug Regen bekommen, werde ich in diesem Jahr wieder keine Ernte erwarten k\u00f6nnen, und ich werde auf die Hilfe anderer Leute angewiesen sein\u201c, f\u00fcrchtet Rachel.<\/p>\n
