Niger<\/h1>\n

Der Niger ist immer wieder mit schrecklichen D\u00fcrren konfrontiert. Als Folge vertrocknen die Felder und die Menschen hungern, da sie stark von der Landwirtschaft abh\u00e4ngig sind. Extreme Armut, Arbeitslosigkeit, der Klimawandel, eine unsichere politische Lage und immer wieder aufkeimende Konflikte verschlimmern die Perspektivlosigkeit vor allem bei der jungen Bev\u00f6lkerung.<\/p>\n

CARE reagiert im Land mit Programmen zur Ern\u00e4hrungssicherheit und der Versorgung mit wichtigen Ressourcen. Niger ist auch die Geburtsst\u00e4tte der erfolgreichen CARE Kleinspargruppen. Dort werden Frauen nicht nur finanziell, sondern auch im sozialen Leben gest\u00e4rkt. Lami (Foto oben) ist eine davon. Sie ist Pr\u00e4sidentin einer Spargruppe, die sich gezielt mit geschlechtsspezifischer Gewalt besch\u00e4ftigt \u2013 ein gro\u00dfes Problem im Ort. Besonders in der Nacht kam es fr\u00fcher regelm\u00e4\u00dfig zu \u00dcbergriffen auf Frauen. Lami hat es geschafft, die Frauen in ihrem Dorf zu mobilisieren und gemeinsam bei der \u00f6rtlichen Polizei mehr Schutz einzufordern. Diese f\u00e4hrt mittlerweile jede Nacht Patrouille. \u201eDas war meine gr\u00f6\u00dfte Leistung. Ich hatte keine Angst und wurde von niemandem gebremst. Ich habe in der \u00d6ffentlichkeit und vor allen Leuten gesprochen, um unsere Rechte zu verteidigen\u201c, erz\u00e4hlt Lami.<\/p>\n
