Um die Situation der Menschen in Malawi zu verbessern, setzt CARE neben der Nothilfe auch einen starken Fokus auf die St\u00e4rkung von Frauen und M\u00e4dchen. Durch die Teilnahme an Kleinspargruppen lernen sie, finanziell unabh\u00e4ngiger zu werden und langfristig das Einkommen und damit das \u00dcberleben ihrer Familie zu sichern. Ein Beispiel daf\u00fcr ist Litness Nyirongo (s. Video) und ihre Familie. Ihre Eltern konnten es sich fr\u00fcher kaum leisten, die Kinder in die Schule zu schicken. Seit das Paar einer Kleinspargruppe von CARE beigetreten ist, sind die Schulgeb\u00fchren kein Problem mehr. Mit dem gesparten Geld konnte die Familie au\u00dferdem das Dach ihres Hauses erneuern und ihren Maisanbau erweitern. Dass auch die Mutter von Litness Mitglied der Gruppe ist, hat die Gleichstellung in der Beziehung ihrer Eltern verbessert. \u201eMeine Eltern haben sich zum Positiven ver\u00e4ndert, weil meine Mutter und mein Vater jetzt gemeinsam Entscheidungen treffen\u201c, erz\u00e4hlt Litness.<\/p>\n
