F\u00fcr CARE ist klar: Die \u00f6konomische St\u00e4rkung von Frauen und deren Miteinbeziehung bei Klimafragen spielen eine gro\u00dfe Rolle, wenn es um den Kampf gegen Armut und Klimawandel geht. Wie gut dieser Ansatz funktioniert, zeigt die Geschichte von Raquel V\u00e1squez (s. Video). Sie war selbst \u00dcberlebende von Gewalt. Mittlerweile ist sie Leiterin einer Organisation zur St\u00e4rkung von Frauen und M\u00e4dchen. Dabei arbeitet sie eng mit der Zivilgesellschaft sowie lokalen und nationalen Beh\u00f6rden in Guatemala zusammen. Gemeinsam mit CARE f\u00fchrt sie erfolgreich Schulungen durch, bei denen die teilnehmenden Personen auch lernen, wie sie mit den Herausforderungen des Klimawandels umgehen. \u201eWenn keine Frauen beteiligt sind, wird es keine erfolgreichen L\u00f6sungen geben.
